New Archbishop, old style
Malta! Good old, poor old Malta. Now finally facing the problems that the Catholic Church in the West has faced for far too long. Makes me wonder why the Maltese would want to repeat exactly the same mistakes that brought the rest of Europe so close to the abyss. Number of seminarians dropping, mass aatendance dropping. Instead: Divorce, abortion, gay marriage, relativism, consumerism, egotism, satisfying every need right away, no matter what the cost. Good old, poor old Malta.

He probably thought that if his predecessor, Joseph Mercieca, looked so fine in the cappa, he might give it a try as well.
